China's Tsinghua Unigroup says creditors have approved restructuring

BEIJING (Reuters) - Debt-laden Chinese chip conglomerate Tsinghua Unigroup on Wednesday said that a draft proposal to restructure the company had been approved by creditors. Administrators will now submit the draft plan to Beijing No. 1 Intermediate People's Court for approval in accordance with Chinese bankruptcy laws, Tsinghua Unigroup said in a statement, without providing detail on what the restructuring would entail. Infineon sees supply bottlenecks until end of 2022 - Handelsblatt

BERLIN (Reuters) - The semiconductor industry's struggle to keep up with incoming orders looks set to continue as supply bottlenecks may last until the end of 2022, a member of German chipmaker Infineon's management board told the Handelsblatt newspaper on Wednesday. "The bottlenecks will extend well into 2022 and could even last until the end of the year," Chief Marketing Officer Helmut Gassel told Handelsblatt. Tsinghua Unigroup expects strategic investment in place by end of March

BEIJING (Reuters) - A strategic investment of 60 billion yuan ($9.42 billion) will be in place for Chinese chip conglomerate Tsinghua Unigroup before March 31, a report by the local 21st Century Business Herald said on Wednesday. The debt-laden company had earlier announced that a vote on the pending investment would take place on Dec. 29. Northvolt battery plant sparks into life, a first for Europe

The cell is of a prismatic cell format - a variety of thinner and lighter battery - and came off the assembly line on Tuesday. Apple puts supplier Foxconn's India plant on notice after protests

Apple did not explain what probation meant. When it placed the southern India plant of another supplier, Wistron Corp, on probation after unrest last year, it said it would not award that company new business until it addressed the way workers were treated. The latest action follows protests that erupted this month after more than 250 women who work at the Foxconn plant and live in one of the dormitories were treated for food poisoning.
